Black Forest Cake Filipino Style (No bake/Steamed type Sponge Cake)

You can absolutely make your own black forest cake without even baking your sponge cake. In this recipe we only used steaming for the sponge cake and a little bit of magical hands and creativity for frosting your black forest cake.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1pack Maya chocolate cake mix
  • 3eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil

PROCEDURE

  1. Beat the eggs
  2. Add the oil
  3. Add water and mix well
  4. Now add the cake mix. Mix until well combined…important reminder , don’t overmix or else the cake will turn out hard.
  5. After that pour it on the cake pan
  6. Cover w/ aluminum foil and steam for 30-45 minutes.
  7. After, remove the foil and let it cool completely.
  8. Level the top
  9. Cut the cake in half.

Now we’re going to make the frosting…

INGREDIENTS

  • Cherries
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream or all purpose cream, chilled
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings

PROCEDURE

  1. First , whip the cream and add sugar little by little until your desired sweetness.
  2. Put half of the whipped cream inside piping bag or any plastic will do, then set aside.
  3. Add some cherries on the remaining cream and fold together…
  4. Spread the cream with cherries on the first layer of the cake
  5. Then sandwich the other half
  6. Spread some frosting on top then spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the chocolate
  8. Decorate….

Black Forest with Steamed Super Moist Chocolate Cake

INGREDIENTS

A:

  • 220g caster sugar
  • 250ml milk
  • 1 tsp instant coffee
  • 250g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • B (sifted)
  • 135g plain flour
  • 60g cocoa powder
  • ¾ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Put A into a pot, stir and cook with low fire till sugar has melted. Remove, add butter and stir till melted. Leave to cool.
  2. Add eggs one at a time and mix till well combine.
  3. Sift B, pour into A mixture and mix well.
  4. Line and grease a round baking tin, pour in cake mixture and steam with Noxxa Multifunction Pressure Cooker for about 40 minutes till cooked.
  5. Remove, turn out cake and leave to cool.

DECORATION

Now we’re going to make the frosting…

Black Forest with Steamed Moist Chocolate Cake

INGREDIENTS

(A)

  • 180g butter / canola oil1 cup sugar (I used 2/3 cup)
  • 1/2 can evaporated milk (I used low fat kind)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

(B)

  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten

(C)

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

METHOD

  1. Combine A in saucepan. Stir over low heat till sugar is dissolved and butter has melted (if using oil just mix together). Off fire and keep warm.
  2. Add B into the slightly cold A.
  3. Combine C and sift into a large mixing bowl. Pour the mixture in 2 over and stir till well mixed. Cake batter should be runny.
  4. Heat up steamer. Lined and greased a 7″ round tin.
  5. Pour batter into the greased tin and steam the mixture over medium heat for 40-45min till cake is cooked.
  6. Cool and start decorating

HOW TO MAKE STEAMED SPONGE CAKE FOR BLACK FOREST CAKE

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups all purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. corn oil

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Separate egg whites and egg yolks. ( Save egg yolks for other uses. )
  2. Beat egg whites until fluffy.
  3. Add sugar and oil. And mix well. If it’s still too sticky, add a little more oil.
  4. Pour the mixture into the flour and mix to make batter.
  5. Spread a sheet of cellophane wrap in steamer.
  6. Pour batter in carefully.
  7. Put boiling water into steamer. Steam  batter  over high heat for 30 – 40 minutes.
  8. Remove, cool.
