Squid Curry

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • ½ onion, cut into rings
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 25g seafood curry powder
  • 1 tomato, cut into wedges
  • 6 okras (lady’s fingers)
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 600g squid, cleaned
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste


  1. Heat up the cooking oil in a pot. Add the onion and stir-fry until aromatic.
  2. Add the coconut milk, water, curry powder, tomato, okras, curry leaves and bring it to boil.
  3. Add the squid and cook for about 3 minutes, or until they are cooked. Make sure not to overcook the squid or they would turn rubbery.
  4. Add salt to taste and serve immediately.
